Lorena Jefferson is the founder of the P.R.E.S.T.I.G.E movement. She comes from a background of 14 years experience of working with families in the counseling environment whereas there was great potential for the demise of the family unit due to economic, social and environmental controls present in the situations.
After diligently working many years in the social setting and watching the destruction of family taking place with very minimal power to assist due to all of the walls that keep our hands tied, Lorena decided she would take all of the experiences and take the lead in the fight. Her belief is that the decay of family is underlying current that is the driving the force of destruction we are experiencing in our american society. This force is a disease that is growing at epidemic proportions.
"We threw out what was not broken with the trash that needed to be discarded". But, now there needs to be a "resurrection" of those things that helped the family to be secure and productive. The empowerment of the individual will enable the family to be impacted and therefore empower the family that will without a doubt continue to trickle down into the empowerment the community and thus the "restructuring of society is inevitable. One step at a time will surmount to amazing progress over time.
